NOTHING

An old wooden bridge. An abandoned boat under it.
One fading sun. A weather getting slightly wet.
We’ve found us with rumbling storm inside our heads.
And hell lot of things to discuss.
A classic romantic novel. A pack of bourbon cigarettes.
The ascending moon and happily chirping crickets.
We’ve found us with heavy eyes but unwilling to go to our beds.
And hell lot of things to discuss.

How have you been? I would ask.
Good, you would say. What cliché!
I hear the rumble in your throat.
And I know we’ve come a long, long way.
But all I wanna know is: did you miss me like I missed you?
So many thoughts but words so few,
So we sit close, our shoulders brushing,
And we say nothing.

Breathtaking Milkyway. Billion stars overhead.
Universe doesn’t have a clue what we’re going through.
A walkman from 80s, loaded with cassette.
Our favorite song. And I miss you.
Two beating hearts. And escaping heartbeats.
Spellbound, as we start afresh.
We’ve found us with rumbling storm inside our heads.
And hell lot of things to discuss.

Did you miss me? I can ask.
Yes, you would say. What cliché!
I hear your beating heart.
And I know we’ve come a long, long way.
But all I wanna know is: do you love me like I love you?
So many thoughts but words so few,
So we sit close, our shoulders brushing,
And we say nothing.
