The One

She was a ‘no compromise’ girl,
Like a glittering broken pearl on an oceanic skirt,
Her laughter was the clink of glasses,
And her cries were the melody of a dream’s dirt,
The-will-o’-the-wisp were her courage and fear,
Her dreams were intertwined in her hair,
She was in quest to hunt down the stars,
But she was afraid of the moonlight.

She was the one, the one who dared.

  1. This was wonderful. I’m glad I saw you’re blog

  2. Dear Neeraj, I was wondering why have I been missing your words for so long! I have just now realized that I am not following you? I cannot find the button anywhere, mind if you let me know how can I?
Your poem is beautiful and melodic, as always, I love the image of:”Like a glittering broken pearl on an oceanic skirt,”
    Happy Holidays!

    • Oh, okay, maybe you just have to click on a button (that’s basically three perpendicular lines) on my blog’s top-right corner. Once you click, it opens the menu. Scroll through the bottom, you’ll find the button to follow.
I think the recent changes in wordpress have resulted into some broken links. I myself do not see many blog-posts in my reading pane.
Anyways, thank you for your appreciation. They always mean a lot to me, especially when I’m a huge fan of your writing.

I’d been away from wordpress for long six months or so, and have just recently resumed after completing my novel. At the moment I’m gathering information on preparing the synopsis and query letter for agents.

Please feel free to suggest me anything. It might be helpful.

      Thank you and Happy Holidays!

    • Thank you, that sorted it! It is hard to get in touch with some WordPress themes sometimes, they look great aesthetically, but are so hard to navigate and explore!

  3. Delicate and beautiful imagery here… A glittering broken pearl was perfection.
