BLUE PLANET – A POEM OF HATRED

I cannot barter my soul for your love anymore,
It was effervesce, mere seduction and stress,
The bottle has emptied sitting pretty,
You may label me as your residence,
But I’m a door shut for you,

And why you really care?
I know the way you pretend,
Salt in your eyes I’ve seen before,
My bed better knows
The game you play and your highest score,
So don’t you throw your cards at me,
I’ve seen all thirteen.

I ain’t remain for you, my love,
Except I’m there in spilled alcohol on your jeans,
You may play cocky and lick those last drops,
No, I’m not there on your socks,

I’m behind schedule, but it’s never too late,
I’ve to preserve my heart – your so called blue planet,

And why you really care?
I know the way you pretend,
Salt in your eyes I’ve seen before,
My bed better knows
The game you play and your highest score,
So don’t you throw your cards at me,
I’ve seen all thirteen.

  1. That first line is killer. I’m glad the narrator stood up for themselves and left a selfish lover.

  2. Where’s the hatred? Couldn’t find one …
