TOOTHBRUSH

Without you
It was the longest day of the season
As it rustled in the winter wind
I just wanted to remind you somehow
That I’m so fond of you
And I carried your toothbrush
In my pocket all day.

Yeah I knew
It can not substitute your presence
But the temptation of your being around
I found
In your fresh breaths
Left lingering
With your toothbrush.

Around you
Must’ve floated the foam of my longing
As I walked with it
In my hands
Dreaming about you
Talking to it
Probably the things you don’t know.

But it does –
Your toothbrush.

Sometimes, they things that people forget, both physical and emotional, are a deadly mixture of a blessing and a curse.

    1. They are deadly indeed.
