The voices in my head never leave
as if something really important they always try to say
and I hear nothing but broken sentences
Just like radio signals sound in a stormy night
This inability shakes me to the very core
I’m impatiently terrified
knowing there is a monster under my bed too
Then he crawls up behind me, whispers quietly in my ear
“You are stronger than them all”
and probably goes back to hide again
I don’t know as I don’t look back
but I try to confuse him
that it is the winter that makes my body shiver.
The voices in my head go silent
and I can’t even get the courage
to say “thank you” in return
not even in my head.
