Burnt

When I taught you to keep a distance
from uninvited friends
I didn’t know you would learn to get away from me

When I discussed love in detail
for you to let me be with you
I didn’t know you would learn to love somebody else

You were a moth and I the flame
that was what you used to claim
but it is me who is left burnt
Oh yeah! but whom to blame?

Caressing your cheeks and your soft hands
I thought I was getting into you
I didn’t realize it was you instead
digging deeper in me only to give scars in the end

You were a moth and I the flame
that was what you used to claim
but it is me who is left burnt
and whom to blame?

You were a moth and I the flame
that was what you used to claim
but it is me who is left burnt
Oh yeah! It is me!
Who is left burnt
(Ultimately)
but whom to blame?
(Whom to blame?)
