What if?

Left our story incomplete
Detached strings, you
in a strange way
Didn’t say anything
Demanded nothing, you
Left me eradicated at bay

Shut all doors on my face
Locked windows, you
chose to run away
Broke my heart in pieces
Scattered on floor, you
didn’t show since that day

and no matter how much I bleed
no matter how much I plea
you don’t have a say
but you know what?
What I believe?

This world is a small small place
What if we meet by chance a day?
Where will you hide?
What would you lie?
about the things you didn’t say?

Burst our trust balloon
Soaked in ruins, you
awarded me dismay
Destroyed our home
Broke promises, you
Got me finally underplayed

Sore throat by calling your name
Red eyes, you
treated me ashtray
Made jokes of our love thesis
Burnt pages, you
didn’t show since that day

and no matter how much I bleed
no matter how much I plea
you don’t have a say
but you know what?
What I believe?

This world is a small small place
What if we meet by chance a day?
Where will you hide?
What would you lie?
about the things you didn’t say?

  1. Who remembers tears and sorrows
    Come tomorrow, I will borrow
    smiles and laughter
    hopes and joys
    Will you join me ?
But..don’t forget to bring your own toys
    For..I never lend nor borrow
    I never kept any sorrows
    I never thought about tomorrow

  3. Such a haunting tune, this poem of yours. I wonder “What” would be or should have been often, this poem described some of the sentiments and wonderings I often tumble around in my head.
