Sitting at the doorstep
Puffing off a cigarette
Dreaming of the smile
that can sooth his stress.
There is no one around that you find
He is smiling
At the character of his mind

Walking at the sea shore
Talking in his thoughts
Imagining everything is perfect
Ups and downs of eyelashes
movement of her eyeballs in slow motion
He is smiling
At his own equation

In a winter so cold
It’s her hands he holds
Sitting at the balcony
She made him coffee
and her words like honey
He’s alone yet satisfied
Sipping coffee with the pride
He’s smiling
For her being around

Going to bed in the night
She is the one, switches off the light
and comes towards him smiling
She wraps her arms around him
Placing her head on his chest
Listening to the heartbeat
He’s smiling
with her in his nest.

  1. I love this. It does however feel like two different poems at times. Mostly from the second parsing to the third. So somewhere right in the middle . This maybe intended. a feeling of disjointedness maybe?
