December Nights

When I have to put Glycerin on my lips,

I think of you as I didn’t need it when you were here,

The love of your lips was enough,

When they used to rub their lip-gloss on mine,

When I have to wear gloves for my fingers,

I think of you as I didn’t need them when you were here,

The care of your hands was enough,

When they held mine to keep them warm,

And I miss you,

For everything you used to do,

Now I sleep without switching off the lights,

Back are the December nights,

When I have to wear socks while in bed,

I think of you as I didn’t need them when you were here,

The softness of your toes was enough,

When we used to play with them all night,

When I have to wrap my ears to keep them warm,

I think of you as I didn’t need to, when you were here,

The whisper of your sweet nothings was enough,

When they tickled them to keep alarmed,

And I miss you,

For everything you used to do,

Now I sleep without switching off the lights,

Back are the December nights,

And I miss you…
