Coming Back

Coming back where I left you… to that place,

To relive the memories, to find out the trace,

Where for the last time… your tears rolled,

There they must have turned into the gold,

Maybe there would be a chance to change the fate,

Maybe it remained open, once was known a closed gate,

To see you standing on the other side,

Maybe there would be a chance to split it wide,

I’m gonna get back to you,

To pick your heart from the dust,

Where it lays eating rust,

In my dreams I see,

Every piece of your heart bleed,

Calling me to come back,

I am coming,

Coming back to you,

To that place where I left you,

Coming back where I tore your heart into pieces,

With every step I take, my heartbeat increases,

In every corner I smell your perfume sublime,

I curse myself for making you cry, for committing the brutal crime,

Maybe there would be a chance to heal your pain,

To roll back the brutality, where once I’d been insane,

Even if I don’t find you or I don’t earn the forgiveness,

I’ll keep waiting there for you cleaning up the mess,

I’m gonna get back to you,

To pick your heart from the dust,

Where it lays eating rust,

In my dreams I see,

Every piece of your heart bleed,

Calling me to come back,

I am coming,

Coming back to you,

To that place where I left you,

Maybe I can take my heart out…

Tear it into equal pieces…

Spread them around in every corner…

To let them remain with yours…

Maybe then I can know the pain…

You have been through…

I don’t deserve to keep this heart,

When I am not with you…

  7. Neeraj, I have missed reading your poems so much! I realized it when I read this one. Like always, as I go from one line to the next, I think “this is my fav, no…this one… no, this one…”.. But finally, the last always turns out to be the best – “I don’t deserve to keep this heart, When I am not with you…” Great work!

  8. Beautiful artwork and amazing poetry. I like the yearning to be loved and the logical and sad ending. Thank you for sharing the story and artwork.
