I wanna live (From the heart of Unborn)

Ma!
I don’t know how you look like,
But I am sure,
You must be most beautiful,
I can feel it,
The way you let me reside,
The way you take care of me inside in you…

I feel so happy,
When you talk to me,
I feel so happy,
When you let me be,
I wanna thank you,
For choosing me a part of you,
To let me live inside in you…

I want to see you first,
I want to play with you,
I want to be loved,
I want to love you,
When I come into this world,

I carry a message,
God has sent me with,
That life is so beautiful,
It is His ultimate gift,

For me, I have not seen the God,
But you’re the one,
Protect me through all the odds,
For me you’re the God,

Say you’ll let me open my eyes,
You’ll let me see the sky,
I want to be a part of your world,
I too want to fly,

Say you won’t kill me here,
You’ll always hold me near,
I promise to be the best girl,
Say you’ll let me smile,
Let me smile…

I hear them talking,
When they ask you to abort me,
Tell them Ma, I am so afraid,
I am alive,
It is just that they have not seen me,

I feel your joy,
I feel your pain,
Tell them I am alive,
I feel everything,

For me, I have seen a dream,
Sleeping in your arms,
Feeling happy with you,
When you sing me songs,

Say you’ll let me open my eyes,
You’ll let me see the sky,
I want to be a part of your world,
I too want to fly,

Say you won’t kill me here,
You’ll always hold me near,
I promise to be the best girl,
Say you’ll let me smile,
Let me smile…

  1. The female foeticide can never be justified. We speak about the perilous social structure existing in our society which creates dungeons for our women in every corner. But what about the teaching they are given since there childhood that they have to remain too subtle and pious? Why not telling them to be strong and face the world as it comes before you. Why can’t they be taught to look after eachother and be the escalating power and recognition for eachother.

Moreover, girls nowadays are competing more for the looks and a decent job rather than being mentally strong and being able to raise a family with the correct ideologies. And our self criticism and lack of self confidence just fuels it more.

To raise strong children – we need to be strong first.
Or atleast derive the strength from your girl child.

This post really connects us !

    • You mentioned it so well. It starts right from the sense of equality. If only we start telling our kids that everyone is equal, if only we treat our kids without the gender biasness, everything will definitely fall in place.
And thank you for giving me the inspiration to write this piece.

    • It’s all give and take between brothers ! 🙂
      my pleasure !

    • You speak of ‘correct ideologies’, correct to who? You and your beliefs? I mean NO disrespect but that is merely ONE belief. Generalizing girls in such a way (‘girls nowadays’), implying that girls who look for a good job rather than raise a family are not mentally strong is extremely ignorant and incorrect. I am in no way religious but I believe I am a good person and I would never tell someone what they should believe. You don’t know the circumstances for different women who have conceived and after seeing the lives that some people live when they are born into an abusive family for instance, or are passed for one care home to another all their lives with not one person who they love or who loves them, no one deserves that. And what about victims of rape? Should they not have any rights? I personally don’t think that ‘abortion’ is a procedure I would ever opt for, but who is anyone to judge anyone else who does. Your poetry is beautiful and I agree that if you are able to raise a child and give that child love and a good life then that is exactly what you should do, but I do thinks it’s very unfair to make such broad and sweeping uninformed judgments. But like I said, we all have the freedom to believe it what we chose, I just wanted to offer an alternative consideration on behalf of women who do make the decision to have an abortion for whatever reason that might be.

    • Very right! Everyone has the right to think their own way, carry their own ideology. Our thoughts can clash but it should be respected equally. Life is so beautiful and every new born is a sign that Gods still have not lost faith in humanity (I am not religious but I believe in it somehow), life is so beautiful and I personally do not support abortion. Considering the rape cases, majorly abortion is opted because of society’s concern. Being raped is not a crime but it is very often seen that way, which is very sad. There are so many women who can’t become mother, maybe their pain is greater than anyone having a situation to opt abortion in any circumstance.

    • I must say it does seriously concern me about society when I hear someone say that they believe rape is not a crime. Girls/Boys/Men and Women are raped, forced into a situation where they are completely disrespected and violated and mentally scared for life. The thought of one human being doing that to another makes me feel physically sick. As for your personal views on abortion, I completely respect what you believe in and I agree for many life is beautiful and I wish it were as good for all as it is for you and myself.

    • Just to make sure that I was sound enough by saying “being raped is not a crime” but doing it is surely DISGUSTING.. I agree any act which is imposed on others in order to disrespect them physically and mentally is insane and should be taken very very seriously. It makes us all feeling sick.
We seem to have on same track on so many beliefs,, Thank you for your comments. They really help us in understanding each other. I really appreciate it. 🙂

    • Ohhh thank goodness for that 🙂 I genuinely thought I was hearing rape being condoned yet again! Yes, its good to have discussions and be able to share what your views upon something are in a respectful way with a fellow writer. Thank you for responding in such a polite manner. I guess if everyone thought the same the world would be one very boring place!

    • I agree on that too.. It will surely turn so boring then 😉

    • Your honest reply is well perceived dear. But you need to be a lil bit more patient. What we have ended up here is making a lump of confusion about few serious , connected but different topics – Female Foeticide is what we were talking about and not abortion. But seriously can’t deny the weight of the issues you’ve touched upon.
      Happy Blogging
